I have tried staves (in my off hand) that gives me meteor, fire wall, and hydra, but all three of those are really slow. This build doesn't have to be purely lightning, but I just don't know how to branch in this case. I was wondering if it might be possible to try and branch out into fire or cold spells. (which has been awesome!) However, he hasn't been doing very well against lighting immune monsters, and in any case having him kill monsters slows me down considerably. I have an act 2 merc with the prayer aura, plus he is armed with a insight runeword, giving me meditation.
Unfortunately I haven't found a single Ber rune or a Griffon's Eye yet, so I'm running into trouble with lightning immunes. I'm playing through D2 single player with a lightning sorc, using only items I personally have found, saving/trading them between my characters with gomule.
